This page explains how to delete photographs and other data you have created with the Cert.Photos app for iPhone and Android, published by Platform Technology Ventures LLC. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at https://cert.photos/privacy.

Delete individual photographs

You can delete any photograph you certified, one at a time or several at once, while keeping your account.

1. Open the Cert.Photos app and go to your Gallery.
2. To delete one photograph, open it and tap Delete Photo.
3. To delete several, select them in the Gallery and tap Delete.
4. Confirm when asked.

What is deleted. The photograph is removed from your gallery and from our servers, along with its details and any share links you created for it. Its public verification page stops working at once.

Timing. Deletion from our systems happens as soon as you confirm. Copies that web browsers and link previews have already saved can take up to 24 hours to expire.

What we keep.

• Pro tier: the identifier embedded in the invisible watermark stays in our verification registry, so anyone who holds a copy of the photograph can still confirm it was certified. The identifier alone reveals nothing about you or the photograph's content.
• Enterprise tier: a certification recorded on the public ledger stays on the ledger permanently. Ledger entries contain a fingerprint of the photograph and reveal nothing about you.
• Legal holds: a photograph under a legal hold is kept until the hold ends. The app tells you when this applies.

Delete your account and all your data

Deleting your account deletes your photographs, their details, and your account information.

• In the app: go to Settings → Account → Delete Account and follow the prompts.
• On the web: use the form at https://cert.photos/delete-account. You do not need to be signed in.
• By email: write to [email protected] from the email address or phone number on your account.

Timing. Once we confirm your identity, we delete the personal information we hold about you within 45 days.

What we keep. A small set of records stays for the periods set out in section 5 of our Privacy Policy:

• Payment records: 7 years, as tax and audit law requires.
• Customer support messages: 3 years after the matter is resolved.
• Diagnostic data: up to 90 days.
• Verification lookup logs: up to 12 months, for abuse detection.
• Watermark registry and public ledger entries: kept, and separated from your identity in our records.
• Records we must preserve by law, such as abuse reports and legal holds, for the period the law requires.
